Curcuma longa essential oil, in 10 ml format, is carefully extracted from the roots of the curcuma longa plant, by our Malagasy producers. This essential oil has a warm, earthy, spicy aroma.
Turmeric essential oil comes from a group of 17 distillers from various regions of Madagascar. All their products are certified organic and Fair For Life (FFL) by ECOCERT, coming from fresh raw materials from their members' plantations.
The production of this oil is ensured by 2 of their members, who carry out the harvest from July to August manually.
Environmental measures, such as reforestation and waste management, are put in place. Their social commitment takes the form of the distribution of school kits, the construction of infrastructure and the distribution of seedlings for reforestation.
Curcuma longa is a rhizome herbaceous plant, belonging to the ginger family. It has large green leaves and produces beautiful yellow flowers.
The underground rhizome is harvested approximately 9 to 10 months after planting. Once dry, the rhizomes are ground into a fine orange-yellow powder. This powder is then used as a spice in many dishes.
Turmeric has long been associated with its vibrant yellow color, which explains its use in religious ceremonies and festivals in India for centuries. Indeed, it is considered a symbol of purity and prosperity.
