Peppermint essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the peppermint plant, by producers in India. This essential oil gives off a fresh, minty scent that awakens the senses.
Ad Naturam Peppermint essential oil is made in India, in the heart of the cradle of mint, in the Indian countryside. It comes from cultivation carried out by a cooperative made up of 18 producers spread across 9 villages.
The manual harvest is carefully orchestrated, covering an area of plains extending over a hundred hectares. This cooperative is committed to offering superior quality essential oil while adopting more environmentally friendly practices.
Peppermint is a hybrid perennial plant resulting from the cross between water mint and spearmint. It can reach a height of 30 to 90 cm.
Farmers grow it in many parts of the world, including Europe, North America and Asia. Peppermint generally thrives in temperate climates and prefers moist, well-drained soil.
Mint is associated with a mythological legend from ancient Greece. According to legend, the nymph Menthé was in love with Hades, the god of the Underworld. When Persephone, his wife, discovered it, she transformed Mint into a fragrant plant to take away its beauty.
Usage
Dosage: One to two drops to flavor culinary preparations. As a herbal tea: 1 to 2 drops in honey, diluted in a lukewarm infusion.
