Nutritherapy
Linus Pauling
The term “orthomolocular”, coined in 1968 by Linus Pauling, means “the right molecule” in the sense of “not being foreign to the human body, which is biologically correct”. As the other molecules (the active substances in most medicinal products) are viewed as biological incorrect, their chemical resemblance to true substances enables them to interact with molecules in the body. However, as they are not identical to the molecules they are imitating, they trigger dysfunction (side effects).

The physiological transporter
This is the type of transporter that dictates to the molecule the designated location where the mineral is released.
Pidolate
Pidolic acid or Pidolate is a naturally-occurring amino acid found in plants and in the human body. Pidolates occur naturally in all our bodies and as such are perfectly integrated into our metabolism. They play a role in our metabolism, promoting metabolic assimilation and boosting performance speed in terms of mineral uptake.
a) Ionisation :
The ionisation of minerals (the mineral receives a positive charge, thereby helping it to enter the cell) is of paramount importance to proper digestive absorption. The acidic environment of the stomach promotes the dissociation of pidolic acid.
This dissociation while in the stomach, allows for a 90% ionisation of minerals. Owing to this virtually complete reaction, the positively charged ions (cations) and the pidolic acid will as a consequence be able to penetrate the epithelial cells of the small intestine, beginning with the first section.
b) Cellular penetration of pidolic acid :
The duodenum is the section of the small intestine with the largest quantity of receptors for cellular penetration by nutrients which, after leaving the small intestine, enter the blood circulatory system and are distributed throughout the body.
Owing to dissociation beginning in the duodenum, assimilation is virtually complete, leaving no waste products in the body, and thereby avoiding kidney exhaustion.
Apart from easy penetration of the cell, the action of the pidolate does not end there. In fact, it has the unique ability to also pass through the double layer of the membranes of mitochondria. Its role as part of the Krebs cycle is central to these energy-generators within the cells.
The benefits of pidolates

- Leaves no waste products in the intracellular environment
- Harmless, stable, non-toxic and suitable for children and pregnant women
- Optimum bioavailability
- Survives passage through the stomach
- Does not compete with other salts
- 100% compatible with vegetarian diets.
Excipients, the plus that sets us apart
Lithothamnion
Lithothamnion, a marine algae of European origin, contains especially high levels of calcium, sodium, iodine, sulphur, iron, magnesium, boron, copper, cobalt, nickel, Selenium, zinc and silver.
It is a very effective food supplement which, when combined with minerals and vitamins, clearly gives an advantage.
For this reason, the vast majority of Equi-Nutri formulations are created using Lithothamnion.
It actually has a particularly alkaline pH, giving it the ability to counterbalance acidity in the body.
The food we eat (sugar, fat, coffee, etc.) is a source of acidity which is at the heart of numerous disorders.
The ability of Lithothamnion to eliminate tissue acidification is useful in addressing the needs of the entire population and attendant inflammatory conditions (osteoarthritis, cancer, colitis and even stress-related illnesses).
